Kingfishers

Welcome to Kingfisher Class!

We are a mixed class of Years 1 and 2.

We LOVE learning and especially like working alongside Robins class.

Together we are all learning SUPERHEROES!

  Class Teacher: Mrs Mallyon

Teaching Assistant: Mrs Evans-Evans (Monday-Thursday)

Our Topics

Autumn Term: 'Traditional Tales' followed by 'Dark Nights and Fairy Lights'

Spring Term: 'The sky's the limit' and 'On Safari'

Summer Term: 'The Great Fire of London' and 'Oh I do like to be beside the seaside'

Each term we produce a Curriculum/Topic Mat that details what the children will learn.

The Curriculum Maps are designed to give as much information as possible about what the children will be learning at school each term so that they can be supported at home.

Topic webs are uploaded to Google Classroom every half term.

  Google Classroom

Further details regarding our learning can be found on our half termly topic web, as well as our class newsletter which will be uploaded to Google Classroom at the start of the new term.

Google Classroom is an excellent way to keep in touch, and is my main way of communicating/sharing our learning with parents at home so please ensure that you accept your invitation to join our class.

Things to remember:

Our P.E. days are Tuesday and Thursday.

  Home Learning

Phonics homework will be sent home weekly.

Maths home learning will be uploaded to Google Classroom at the beginning of term.

As well as this, children should also be reading daily and completing challenges on Doodle Maths.

Please let us know as soon as possible if you need a login for either the 'Reading Planet' or 'Doodle Maths'.

Children will be given the opportunity to change their books regularly and Mrs Evans-Evans will also assign books on the 'Reading Planet'.
