WAS: Wellbeing Award for Schools
On Tuesday 17th November 2020, we had our assessment for the Wellbeing Award for Schools. We have been uploading evidence of all of the things we have been doing towards EWMH (emotional wellbeing and mental health) for the last 18 months to the Optimus portal.
The assessor spoke to a selection of pupils, staff, parents and governors as well as scrutinising all of the online evidence to form her judgements. Please see below some of the quotes from her report…
‘The school clearly see Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health (EWMH) as central to its work.’
‘The head teacher and staff I spoke to demonstrate an impressive understanding of the individual needs of pupils and colleagues and are clearly passionate about everyone feeling safe, listened to, welcome and supported within the school.’
‘This is a school that clearly cares about the EWMH of the whole community, for all of its stakeholders and this shone through from everyone who took part in the ‘virtual’ visit today as well as all the other evidence provided.’
Many thanks to all who took part in the assessment and to everyone who has helped us over the last 18 months to get to where we are now!
We are pleased to announce that we have been recommended for this award!
The award lasts for 3 years and then we can renew it.
Wellbeing is now an integral part of our school and will continue to be so.
