Music

Music is an important subject at Kettlefields. Music allows emotions to be projected and understood. Singing and playing instruments is great for metal well-being.

All children are taught music as part of the curriculum. The focus of the lesson varies from singing, to playing simple percussion instruments. Key Stage 2 children, have the opportunity to learn an instrument as a class group. Recent instruments have included the glockenspiels, recorders and ocarinas.

We use the Charanga scheme of work at Kettlefields primary school. This ensures progression of knowledge and skills across the school.

We have a music assembly once a week where children sing together. All Children are able to join the choir. We regularly hold music assemblies for parents to come and see their children sing or play. There are opportunities for children to take additional music lessons such as singing, piano, guitar and flute.
